People normally don’t think of beer and wine as a “health food”. However, while pasteurized commercial beers and wines are not a probiotic, locally produced unpasteurized beers and wines are. Thus, they may be the best way to get probiotics into those who normally turn their noses at other fermented foods. With that in mind, even though there is step up in price from commercial beers, they offer a far better value (live food versus dead calories).

South Florida Production Breweries
The micro breweries below are production breweries, whose focus is to supply local restaurants and bars, but who also have a tasting room where you can enjoy their beers. 32 oz. growlers, 1 gallon growlers, 5.12 gallon kegs, & 13.2 gallon kegs are available at each brewery for take—away; larger quantites are available from local distributors. To find beers in local stores, see Brown Distributing’s beerfinder. There are also a number of “brew pubs” that brew smaller quantities of beer in a restaurant/bar atmosphere, but since they function primarily as restaurants, we do not cover them.
