South Florida Farmers’ & Green Markets

Markets in black type are open now; markets in grey type are open during the season listed.
Listed north (Vero Beach area) to south (Florida Keys).

South Florida is fortunate to have a number of farmers’ markets; some established long ago, with large number of new ones started in the last few years. What you’ll find on any given day depends on the season and the clientele the market attracts. If you are specifically looking for local produce, buy only from those vendors that are willing to label which farm grew the item and how it was grown (certified organic, grown with no synthetic chemicals, or conventional). For produce, the most relevant question to ask is, “When was it picked?” Farmers who pick the late afternoon before to ensure the most nutrient–dense (and thus tastiest) produce are selling something worth far more than the extra cost. Note: though they may call themselves a “farmers’ market”, markets with one vendor only are listed in our Farm Stores, Markets & U–Picks section. Vendor counts come directly from the market managers.
